Attributes are specific characteristics of products that provide additional information or options to the customers, such as product size, color, material, etc. By assigning a corresponding set of attributes to products, you enable customers to easily find and select the exact product they desire according to their preferences. For example, a T-shirt on your online store can have color and size attributes. Attributes enable you to create various types of the same product without creating a new product from scratch. Additionally, attributes allow you to track and analyze customer preferences according to product popularity based on color, material, and other attributes assigned to the product.

Here you can:

  • create a new attribute;

  • search for corresponding attributes;

  • sort the attributes according to alphabetical order, creation status, or type.

Creating an Attribute

To create an attribute:

  1. Click +New Attribute.

  2. Indicate the attribute name in the form that opens.

  3. Select the attribute type from the drop-down list (see Types of Attributes).

  4. Click +Add Option to create corresponding options according to the selected attribute type, if required.

  5. Activate/deactivate the necessary attribute configurations (see Attribute Configurations).

Note: The configurations may vary depending on the attribute type.

6. Click Save.

For each created attribute, a specific widget is automatically generated in the Visual Editor under the relevant widget grouping. For example, if you have created a Color attribute, a corresponding widget is generated. You need to add the widget to display the attribute on the website.

Once you have created the attribute go to Products > Product Families, select the product type, and create a new product family. In the product form that opens create an attribute group and assign the attribute to the newly created attribute group.
